Pop-Up Cardboard Shelter Folds Down To Fit Into Luggage Bags For Easy Transport

With the refugee crisis intensifying, people require solutions that allow them to pack up their lives and head off at a moment’s notice. Previously, a furniture line centered around this issue allowed users to quickly assemble and disassemble the pieces without needing screws and nails.
 
This time, Maawa offers people a pop-up house that can fold down and be stored in a suitcase, and weighing just 37 lbs, it can be easily carried it to its next destination.

The cardboard shelter is waterproof and even supports solar power. It takes up 124 cubic feet when unfolded and can sleep one to two adults. The best thing about this is that you won’t need any tools to set it up as it pops open like a regular packing box.
 
Inside, it has a smart panel that allows you to control different areas of the tent and let organizations keep track of where their usage across various refugee locations.

On top of this is that it’s a lot more eco-friendly than plastic tents, and its material is biodegradable and recyclable. So once a user is done with it, it can easily be turned into something else.
 
The tent is still patent-pending, but Maawa aims for it to be used to aid refugees and homeless communities by putting a cardboard roof over their heads.
