Screwless, Flat-Packed Furniture Lets Ukrainians Assemble Comfort With Ease
By Nicole Rodrigues, 06 Mar 2023
In a current era of war and strife, one company is returning to the roots of flat-packed self-assembling furniture with simplicity and ease at its forefront. YourFoRest’s ‘EasyStory’ line intersects modular design with pleasing shapes to bring comfort back into the homes of many.
The collection consists of six items: a low bed, a desk, an open-style closet, a stool, a side table, and a tray. Each comes in a finished beige ash wood and timeless shapes that can fit into any aesthetic.
What sets it apart is its patented assembly method that loses the need for nails and screws. This “allowed YourForRest designers to give EasyStory owners a new experience and the opportunity to feel like co-creators of products,” states the brand. The pieces are delivered in bags for future transportation as well.
YourFoRest notes that EasyStory is like a “game” that teaches people about design and furniture in an affordable and approachable way.
According to the brand, the decision to include modularity in the collection came after a period of lockdown, seeing everyone stuck in one space only to be thrust into a current climate of constant migration. This need for people to pick up and go at a moment’s notice pushed the team to figure out a way to make furniture transportable without forgoing design choices.
