Three years ago, Tesla launched a US$250 tequila in a bottle shaped like a lightning bolt—humorously dubbed the ‘Teslaquilla’—as a tongue-in-cheek reference to a 2018 April Fool’s joke by Chief Elon Musk.
Now, the automaker is making its second foray into the world of alcohol, this time with ‘GigaBier’, a beverage inspired by the Cybertruck that honors the “500-year tradition of German Reinheitsgebot beermaking.”
The limited-edition pilsner-style brew, which retails at £79 (US$97) for a pack of three, features Tesla-exclusive strain of “cyberhops” and notes of citrus, bergamot, and sweet fruit for a distinct taste.
In addition, each bottle comes with a seamless gloss black sleeve bearing a special glow-in-the-dark ‘Giga’ watermark on the front.
While shelling out more than US$30 for a single beer certainly is pricey, the drink could pair well with the brand’s sipping glasses, and is perhaps more useful than the US$50 Cyberwhistle that sold out instantly.
