Daniel Arsham’s Eroded 911 Porsche Lines Up On The Grid In A Real Race
The worlds of art and motorsports are about to collide in a truly spectacular fashion as Daniel Arsham’s stunningly eroded Porsche 911 gets set to compete in a real race. This is not your average sports car but a piece of craftsmanship that has been made to push the limits of what is possible in the racing world.
Fans of the Porsche Carrera Cup France are in for a treat as they witness one of Arsham’s incredible creations rev up alongside other renowned drivers of the sport. The 911 GT3 Cup Eroded 3023, which racecar driver Arthur Mathieu is sitting behind the wheel of, features stunning blue eroded artwork that stretches across the hood, side panels, fenders, roof, and even on his helmet.
For those unfamiliar with Arsham’s work, he is known for creating sculptures that feature an eroded finish with crystallines popping out of the pieces. While this may sound like an unusual choice for a racecar, the team behind the no. 53 vehicle has incorporated this aesthetic into a stunning 2D design that adorns the car’s wrap. The artist’s studio logo is also prominently featured on the front splitter and engine cover.
Not only is the car fit for a gallery show, but it also packs quite a punch under the hood. The track-only 911 GT3 Cup is powered by a 4.0-liter flat-six boxer engine that can push the vehicle up to 496 hp with 347 ft-lbs of torque. With that, fans will be treated to Mathieu speeding around in this Arsham artwork at almost 186 mph.
