Liquid Death Wants To Repurpose Plastic Waste As Cosmetic Implants

Famed for killing it in advertising, Liquid Death (get it?) is now taking extreme measures to tackle the pileup of single-use plastics left behind by other drink manufacturers.

Plastic recycling is a myth, says the brand, which sells mountain water in aluminum cans. In fact, a 2022 study by Greenpeace suggests that only 5% of plastic garbage generated by households is actually recycled, while everything else enters landfill.

As a ridiculous solution to a ridiculous predicament, Liquid Death has proposed the ‘Recycled Plastic Surgery Center’, where every cosmetic enhancement is filled with the leftover plastic that doesn’t get processed.

Heading that clinic is comedian Whitney Cummings, whose patients have very visibly done work, as evidenced by the mounds of crumpled plastic bulging from their biceps and booties.

Feeling FOMO? Don’t worry. There’s enough plastic to go around.

“A sexier planet begins with a sexier you,” Dr Cummings proclaims in an outrageous spot created by advertising agency Party Land.

Since plastic doesn’t really break down, Cummings reassures patients of the Recycled Plastic Surgery Center that they will retain their looks even when they’re dead and gone.

With that said, Liquid Death points out that “recycled plastic surgery is not yet legal in all 50 states.” Filler fanatics can first get their hands on the official Recycled Plastic Surgery Center “post-op sweatshirt” on the Liquid Death online store for US$52. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Thirst Project, which aims to supply safe drinking water to communities at risk, and 5 Gyres, a nonprofit dedicated to clearing litter from the oceans.
