Last year, a partnership between Omega and Swatch, two esteemed Swiss watch brands, sparked excitement as it gave birth to a collection of moon-themed timepieces that captivated enthusiasts and collectors alike.
Now, in a tribute to Swiss National Day on August 1, the duo has unveiled an upgraded version of the Mission to Moonshine Gold MoonSwatch.
The latest MoonSwatch timepiece features a second hand with a Swiss lantern pattern, paying homage to the heritage of both brands. The design draws inspiration from traditional Swiss lanterns and proudly displays the country’s flag—a white cross on a bold red background—celebrating the roots of Swiss watchmaking craftsmanship.
The rest of the timepiece remains true to its predecessors; the new MoonSwatch also features Swatch’s Bioceramic material, a sleek black and gray case, and a black velcro strap. It also features the “Mission to the Moon” quote on the back, an image of the Moon.
Moreover, each timepiece is accompanied by a certificate affirming it was crafted during the full Moon of July, just in case astrology is a big thing for you.
The MoonSwatch can now be purchased for US$300 on Swatch’s website and at its retail stores starting from August 1.
As for other ventures that the duo has embarked on individually, Omega has just unveiled a new watch to mark the countdown to the Paris 2024 Olympics, and Swatch dives into a new alternate reality where it wonders what the company would have looked like if it went for a square design instead of its traditional circular face.
