X/Twitter Will Soon Bring Video Calls To The Ever-Changing ‘Everything’ Platform
For those looking forward to exciting changes awaiting X, here’s good news: CEO Linda Yaccarino has confirmed that users will soon be able to make video calls on the platform.
Speaking to CNBC’s Sara Eisen, the newly-appointed chief of the site revealed that the aforementioned video chats will work without the use of actual phone numbers, which many may be hesitant to give out on social media.
This feature comes as Yaccarino and owner Elon Musk charge ahead with update after update, hoping to transform X into an “everything application” that would include long-form video content, payment systems, and creator subscriptions.

The CEO’s words back up a tweet by X designer Andrea Conway last month, who teased a first look at the upcoming voice and video call functions by sharing a screenshot of how the interface would appear.
There’s no doubt that many more updates are on the way, with Yaccarino describing the platform’s grand rebrand as “a liberation” from its past as Twitter that would propel it “past a legacy mindset.”
