Zara Chronicles The Slow Burn Of Office Life With Rare Advertisement

You recognize its models’ unhinged poses, but are you familiar with any of its commercials? Zara has taken time away from the clothing racks to spend a day in the life of nine-to-fivers, and it seems to be learning on the job quickly.

A new spot for the Spanish label’s Back to Work edit captures the mundane encounters one might have in the corporate world. Mundane, as it turns out, isn’t another word for boring, as you’ll find yourself chuckling at these ordinary but relatable moments faced by the protagonist.

Aptly, the entire film takes place in an elevator—but Zara still manages to show off its workwear in a less stuffy way. The delightful, mildly chaotic advertisement—underscored with the anxiety of spilling a coffee and eventually spilling one—was written and directed by Jordan Hall, and recorded on 35mm film in a custom-built set. As noted by The Drum, such promotional campaigns are rare for the fast-fashion giant.

Boutique production agency PRODn handled production, while creative and production studio Bryght Young Things took charge of post-production.
