Recently, Domino’sannounced it was offering an Emergency Pizza service for starving customers—providing a free medium two-topping pizza with a purchase worth US$7.99 or more.
Now, with Halloween creeping up, M&M’s is joining the “relief efforts” by teaming up with delivery platform Gopuff to deliver emergency candy refills so fans never run out of treats.
Starting at 3pm ET on October 31, 2023, residents in areas such as New York, Philadelphia, and Chicago will have the opportunity to call upon the M&M’s Halloween Rescue Squad for a free refill of chocolates.
Mars, theconfectionary’s parent company, guarantees delivery within just 30 to 60 minutes, alleviating consumers’ worries about pleasing trick-or-treaters and guests with an ample candy supply.
According to data from a Morning Consult survey commissioned by the firm, approximately half of US shoppers have experienced anxieties about having enough candy in the past.
Recognizing this common issue, M&M’s hopes to boost the visibility of their new Campfire S’Mores while winning the favor of uneasy consumers.
To access the Rescue Squad, individuals can place a call via this designated website. They can also get a head start on their candy needs by purchasing M&M’s and Mars variety packs on the same platform.
As an added incentive, customers who spend between US$15 and US$30 from September 1 to October 31, 2023, can upload their receipts and claim up to three free months of Peacock’s premium streaming service.
“The Halloweenseason is expanding, and enthusiasm is driving consumers to shop earlier and more frequently,” said Tim LeBel, president of sales and “chief halloween officer” at Mars Wrigley.
“As the authority on Halloween, we plan for the season years in advance to ensure we satisfy shoppers’ needs. From our first ever M&M’s Halloween Rescue Squad to new product innovations, we’re doing everything we can to inspire more moments of everyday happiness this season.”
