MSCHF Is Back In Black For Its New Big Boot Release

MSCHF, the audacious art collective famed for its unorthodox creations, has introduced a novel addition to its repertoire—the MSCHF Big Black Boot.

If it looks familiar to you, that’s because the collective released a Big Red Boot earlier this year, which took the internet by storm thanks to its outlandish appearance and its ability to turn its wearer into Astro Boy. Then, sometime in the summer, it paired up with Crocs for a holey version of the boot. And just after that, rumors of a black version started to swirl. Now, it is finally here.

This footwear sensation doesn’t shy away from making a statement; it stands tall, nearly reaching 16 inches in height, and carries a weight of just under 3 lbs.

Surprisingly, the Big Black Boot embraces a more reserved aesthetic (or as reserved as a pair of boots of this size can be), swathed entirely in a matte black color palette, a marked departure from MSCHF’s previous audacious releases. Though, as subdued as it might seem, it’s still a pair of large and in charge boots that makes every step you take seem a little cartoonish. That, however, doesn’t take away from its charm or the endless Halloween costumes that could come out of it.

Constructed from flexible TPU foam, the boot proudly bears the MSCHF logo discreetly stamped beneath the midsole.

If you’d like to take a (big) step into the world with the Big Black Boot, it’s set to make its debut on October 26, available for purchase through the MSCHF website and the MSCHF Sneakers app, with an expected retail price of approximately US$350.
