New York Times Unlocks Over 1,000 Old ‘Wordle’ Puzzles To Be Available For Play

Wordle junkies have reason to celebrate as New York Times Games has unveiled a new feature busting their one-puzzle-a-day dosage. This spells more fun.
Subscribers to NYT Games and All Access can now explore over 1,000 past Wordle puzzles, marking the first significant expansion of the game since its acquisition by The New York Times in early 2022.
The new accessible archive allows players to revisit puzzles they’ve missed, tackle them at their own pace, or simply tide over their Wordle withdrawals. According to the Times, this addition is about more than just replaying old games. “We know being able to reflect on [your] play history is important,” it notes.
Subscribers can thus track their progress, save their results, and even share their achievements with friends and family. Additionally, the repository provides access to a calendar of puzzles dating back to June 2021 and offers WordleBot analysis to help players refine their strategies.

Expressing enthusiasm about the archive’s launch, Jonathan Knight, head of games at The New York Times, shares: “We are thrilled to unlock the official Wordle archive for our subscribers. The official Wordle archive is gradually being made available across various platforms, starting with web and mobile, and will soon hit the NYT Games app. This rollout, set to continue over the next few months, will eventually reach all subscribers globally, offering them a treasure trove of older puzzles to enjoy at their leisure.
The addition of WordleBot to the NYT Games app, coming soon to all users, is another new feature designed to enhance the Wordle experience. This tool analyzes completed games, providing insights that help players refine their approaches and compare their scores with others.
