You can now wear tinfoil conspiracies on your sleeve. British rapper and singer M.I.A. is making waves—and supposedly impeding some—with her new streetwear brand, Ohmni. And while her contemporaries focus on doling out $20 gear, her mission is a little more unique—to shield wearers from the invisible electromagnetic waves of Wi-Fi, 4G, and 5G that permeate our modern lives.
Launched on conspiracy theorist Alex Jones’ Infowars website, the bizarre collection promises to “block 99.99% of Wi-Fi, 4G, and 5G from reaching your brain.”Items include a US$100 Tin Foil reversible two-tone bucket hat that features a construction of “pure copper and nickel Faraday fabric.” For those seeking broader protection, the $200 Data Protection Dump Bag claims to block “99.99 percent” of “electromagnetic radiation.”
