It’s time to get up from your Eames shell chair and head outdoors, for a new Polaroid camera crafted with design lovers in mind has dropped. The camera maker has teamed up with Eames Office to bring a stylish twist to its beloved Polaroid Now Generation 2 camera.

Paying homage to the legendary designers Charles and Ray Eames, the special edition is dressed in ‘Elephant Hide Gray’, a classic fiberglass color, and sealed in packaging emblazoned with Eames’ signature geometric print.

This functional piece of art retains its nostalgic charm with features like a self-timer and double exposure mode, encouraging creative experimentation. The tactile joy of pressing a physical shutter button, for one, brings a unique satisfaction to make each captured moment special.

Don’t be fooled by its vintage vibes, though. The Eames Edition packs a modern punch. The double-lens autofocus ensures crisp, clear photos, while the self-timer mode lets you jump into the frame for those spontaneous group shots. The camera is rechargeable via USB-C and compatible with both Polaroid i-Type and 600 Film, making it a versatile choice for photographers of all levels.

As for the wrist strap, it features a geometric pattern inspired by the iconic Eames Toy, adding a playful touch while nodding to Eames’ early educational films that positioned Polaroids not just as cameras, but as tools for artistic expression.

In line with the Eames philosophy of responsible design, the camera is crafted from 40% recycled materials.

“Charles and Ray’s holistic vision of design encompassed communication and education, which became evident in their masterful films for Polaroid,” explains Eames Demetrios, director of the Eames Office. “In turn, the instant camera soon led to an expansion of their creative signature and became an important feedback tool in the design process. The Eames Office is delighted to build on this shared design legacy with the Polaroid Now - Eames Edition.”

You can now snap up this analog gem for a price of US$129.99.
