This week, Miu Miu unveiled its first-ever collaboration with denim brand Levi’s. The Upcycled by Miu Miu collection will feature pre-owned denim, made fashionable again with the Italian fashion house’s use of embellishment, sparkle, and color.
This collection specifically features men’s ‘Made in USA’ 501 jeans and trucker jackets from the 1980s and 1990s, restyled for the modern woman. As the collection is made from upcycled denim, no two pieces are the same.
According to Sourcing Journal, the vintage denim has been hand-embellished with Miu Miu’s signature crystal, pearl, floral and diamanté embroideries.
Some don leather patches and Art Deco-inspired motifs, while others are bedazzled. The collection’s Trucker Jackets have also been updated for 2021, incorporating currently-trending puff sleeves.
Each piece in the collection features a co-branded backpatch in Miu Miu’s signature baby pink color. Customers will also receive a special Miu Miu carrier bag stamped with Levi’s logo.
The campaign will launch mid-May, with it being available first in London and Shanghai, followed by the rest of the world.
