Giant $600K Statue Of Elon Musk As Goat Arrives At Tesla Headquarters
By Alexa Heah, 29 Nov 2022
Earlier this month, a group of cryptocurrency entrepreneurs revealed they had commissioned a US$600,000 statue of Elon Musk as an ode to the figurehead of the Elon GOAT Token ($EGT).
Of course, for the world’s richest person, the statue couldn’t just be a simple bust akin to many others. Instead, the collective designed the sculpture to feature Musk’s likeness in a six-foot-ball head, attached to a 30-foot-long body of a goat.
It doesn’t end there, with Canadian metal sculptor Kevin Stone mounting the centaur-but-not-centaur depiction atop a huge rocket that can blast fire from its behind.
According to Artnet News, the impressive monument stands 30 feet high and weighs an estimated 12,000 pounds, taking the artist six months to complete.
We’re very proud of our accomplishments and commitment to #EGT

We’ve always had long term vision for $EGT and will continue to build the brand and utility.

The team toured the sculpture through California, Arizona, and Washington—securing it on top of a semi-trailer—before it finally headed to Austin this weekend, when they left the giant statue outside of Tesla’s headquarters.
While the event was dubbed ‘GOATsgiving’, it appears Musk has yet to respond to the generous yet peculiar gift, though the token’s co-founder Alec Wolvert told the Wall Street Journal they plan to stay outside the automaker’s HQ for “as long as possible.”
It does seem that the entire stunt could be a publicity drive for the relatively unknown cryptocurrency, as Musk tweeting about or acknowledging the token would legitimize it the way Dogecoin was previously.
Seemingly undeterred by the GOAT’s silence, the founders have said they’re already planning an ‘Elon Santa’ project for Christmas, and will launch a toy drive for children in hospitals.
