‘Avengers’ Director Says Chris Evans ‘Is Not Done’ Playing ‘Captain America’
By Izza Sofia, 30 Nov 2018
Chris Evans previously announced the end of his run as ‘Captain America’ following eight years channeling the superhero. According to filmmakers behind the fate of the ‘Avengers’, however, Evans isn’t putting down the shield just yet.
Joseph and Anthony Russo, directors of Avengers: Infinity War who also directed Evans as ‘Captain America’, told AP Entertainment, “I think it was more emotional for him than us, only because he’s not done yet,” Joseph said rather cryptically. “I don’t want to explain what that means, but the audience will soon understand what I'm talking about.”
He added that it is important for Marvel films to keep audiences on their toes—just like the finger-snap cliffhanger.
“I think people were surprised. I think some people were upset,” Joseph continued. “But again, I think it’s our job as storytellers to surprise them and to make difficult choices in the storytelling. These stories are reflective of how my brother and I feel about life and the way that we see things.”
