Victoria’s Secret Crowns Model Leomie Anderson As Its First Black British Angel

Victoria’s Secret has unveiled its latest Angel: Leomie Anderson. Evidently elated, the model—who has walked in four of the lingerie label’s fashion shows—announced her newfound status on Instagram.
The 26-year-old from South London is among three new angels enlisted by the brand of late. Alongside new Angels Barbara Palvin and Alexina Graham, Anderson is now one of the fifteen Angels in the VS stable.
According to BuzzFeed, Anderson is the first Black British VS angel and the sixth black VS Angel. The model, however, describes to the website that the fashion and beauty world still has a long way to go in representing various ethnicities, although she definitely has seen a few transformations.
Anderson was first scouted at just 14 years old by a modeling agency on her way home from school. By 17, she had walked her first runway for Marc Jacobs before embarking on a voyage for Moschino, Tom Ford, Chloe, Yeezy, Fenty Puma, and the like.
She has also been casted in numerous campaigns namely Fenty Beauty and Pat McGrath. Leomie Anderson is also an activist for inclusion and diversity and founded a startup called LAPP in 2016, with the goal of providing young women a platform to publish think pieces on subject matters that relate to them, ranging from sex to politics and fashion.
