A new trendy concept has bloomed at design house Marimekko with its first foray into streetwear.
The 16-piece ‘Marimekko Kioski’ line features androgynous pieces focused on the theme of creativity. Marimekko’s synonymous poppy print ‘Unikko’, created by designer Maija Isola in the 1960s, takes center stage here.
The streetwear collection spotlights silhouettes and styles “not trapped by gender differences,” the brand describes, and comprises t-shirts to sweaters and hats in both muted and bold hues.
Take a look at Marimekko’s first streetwear pieces below. The capsule will first drop in Tokyo on 17 August before making its way worldwide, though a global release date hasn’t been specified.
