Instagram has come up with a new message app called Threads on Thursday. The app is created to make communication simpler between close friends. It allows users to share their status among their peers and let them know what you are up to.
Users can send photos, videos, stories and messages to their friends.
The status updating function is displayed to all users on the close friends list. There are also suggested templates such as “studying,” or “On the move,” to keep friends updated.
However, it does not reveal the user’s exact location when the status is being updated.
Instagram’s director of product Robby Stein shared in a blog post that this app is built to make communication easier for the “smaller circle of friends.” Friends can connected throughout the day and communicate with each through photos and videos.
The ‘close friends’ list on Instagram can be imported to Threads, and if users have yet to create the list on their Instagram accounts, they can simply do so on the Threads app itself.
