Zoe Kravitz will don the black leather suit as she takes on the role as the next Catwoman.
The Big Little Lies star has sealed the deal to be the next Selina Kyle in Warner Bros.’s new The Batman film, according to Deadline.
She will join Robert Pattinson, who will star as Bruce Wayne, and Jeffrey Wright, who will play Commissioner Gordon.
It was previously reported that Jonah Hill was in talks for a villain role in the movie, but whom he will play has not been announced as yet.
Prior, the role of Catwoman was played by big names like Michelle Pfeiffer, Anne Hathaway and Halle Berry, who raised the paws for the character.
Berry took on the role in the 2004 standalone Catwoman film and in the Gotham television series, while Cameron Bicondova purred as the young Selina Kyle.
In the 1960s Batman television series, Julie Newmar, Lee Meriwether, and Eartha Kitt marked their legendary takes on Catwoman.
With a bullwhip by her side, Catwoman is notably recognized for her seductive characteristics and agility in combat. Selina Kyle is often depicted to be in a complicated love-hate relationship with Batman, which could be something fans might look forward to in the upcoming movie.
The film is directed by Matt Reeves, and is set to be released on 25 June 2021.
