The Oreo is arguably the perfect dunkable cookie. You might even say it’s a supreme cookie. As priceless as an Oreo experience is, would you pay thousands for one?
This week, cult street fashion label Supreme announced that it collaborated with Oreo to create a special limited-edition cookie. The snack reportedly retails at US$8 for a pack of three cookies.
As extravagant as the US$8 price already is—a regular pack of 36 Oreos costs just US$2.96 at Walmart—scalpers are hoping that Supreme fans would twist, link, dunk, and cop the Supreme Oreo cookies for five-digit sums, according to CBS News.
Since time of publishing, one listing on eBay has amassed a bid of US$15,399 for a packet of three “rare” cookies. Who knows how steep the amount will get by the time the auction ends on Wednesday, 26 February?
Cheaper options are available on the online marketplace, but at US$32 and US$10,800, you might be better off buying regular Oreos in bulk.
The Supreme Oreo cookies dropped across Supreme stores on Thursday. Since then, they have painted the town red.
