The weather looks funny today.
Justin Hinton, an anchor from Asheville, North Carolina-based WLOS News 13, wore many hats during his weather forecast last week. Unbeknownst to him, a face filter generator was activated during a livestream, and he carried out his segment disguised as a wolf, wizard, and more.
Apparently, Facebook’s ‘Mystery Filter’ setting was unintentionally switched on just before he went live to report on heavy snowfall that day. Hinton then handed his camera to the photographer he was working with, who pointed out to him about “the screen having faces,” the reporter shared on Facebook.
“He didn’t elaborate, so I said it would probably go away,” Hinton added. “Needless to say, it did not go away.”
As embarrassing as the encounter was, Hinton made light of the situation and shared the many filters overlaying his face in screenshots.
Even the news network he was reporting for had a laugh, and later posted the hilarious segment online.
“If you can’t laugh at yourself, what’s the point of laughter?” Hinton related. “I hope you enjoyed the snow day, and remember to smile and laugh!”
Facebook Live blooperWhen you're trying to do a serious Facebook Live about the weather and you accidentally tap the Mystery Mask filter. Poor Justin Hinton. 🤣
