Wheel of Fortune contestant Marle’ta Robinson missed the chance of winning a trip to Costa Rica worth US$11,000 with her best friend of 15 years for asking for one letter—and that was Q.
Robinson and her best friend Nancy Krol competed as a duo team during the game show’s Girlfriend Getaways week last Thursday. In the express round, they had to solve a puzzle under the category, “Living Things.”
The phrase was left with, “E _ _TIC - AND - C _ L _ R _ _ L - BIRDS” during Robinson’s turn and she asked for a Q.
Host Pat Sajak nonchalantly replied, “There is no Q.”
The next contestants, Pauline Fillipou and Emily Newton, went home with the big prize by immediately solving the puzzle, “EXOTIC AND COLORFUL BIRDS.”
Social media users, clearly appalled by Robinson’s letter choice, began questioning her move. “Out of all of the letters, the letter Q had to be said,” one user wrote, while another assumed “they lost on purpose” for suggesting the letter Q.
The other friend disowned the one that said let’s use q! https://t.co/tg5l5Si2jp
