Kobe Bryant’s memorial service took place earlier this week at Staples Center, commemorating the 41-year-old and his daughter Gianna, who both lost their lives in a helicopter crash in January.
The event on Monday saw over 20,000 attendees, who were all given keepsakes in memory of Bryant. Some of these items ended up on eBay for sale, which is a policy violation.
eBay informed TMZ on Wednesday that the company does not permit listings that “attempt to profit from human tragedy or suffering.”
Among the offending listings are a memorial t-shirt, booklet, ticket and pin package with a starting bid at around US$3,000. eBay is now removing these listings under its rules.
However, the marketplace is still home to other memorabilia related to the NBA star, and their prices have spiked since his passing.
