The COVID-19 outbreak has taken the lives of over 3,000 people globally, and has left nearly 90,000 infected by the disease. The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the epidemic to be a public health emergency worldwide.
This, however, has fueled many to start designing T-shirts about the virus and put them up for sale.
As outrageous as it sounds, the term “coronavirus merchandise” is now an actual thing. Some have taken a lighter approach with their designs, while others are downright insensitive.
TheTalkingApparel’s ‘Stop Coronavirus Terror’ design hopes to spark optimism and reduce mass panic.
Unfortunately, there are also many designs associating the virus with
Corona beer, although the brand is
not linked to the virus at all.
One design by Impression2050Plus reads, “I Have Coronavirus and Lyme Disease.” The range of coronavirus-inspired graphic T-shirts even drags in Baby Yoda, who is seen touching the microscopic version of the virus. Another T-shirt bears resemblance to a rock band’s
World Tour merchandise, but casts the deadly disease under the spotlight instead.
