Hugh Jackman’s final reprisal as Wolverine (AKA Logan) was seen in the film Logan three years ago. The actor gave an emotional tribute on the film’s third anniversary, but was soon met with Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds’ mockery.
“[Three] years ago, on this day, Logan was released. Thank you for the many (and I really mean many) years of sweat, steamed chicken and the role of a lifetime!” Jackman wrote in a Twitter post with a picture of himself as Wolverine.
Reynolds responded with a post revealing how he was going to celebrate the film. The post included a scene from Deadpool 2, which depicts a reference to Wolverine’s passing.
Soon, Jackman questioned, “Jealous?” knowing of Deadpool’s immortality caused by his regenerative power, which Wolverine also had prior to Logan.
The two have been going head to head in jest, since Reynold’s titular role in Deadpool 2 constantly mocks Jackman and his character, Wolverine.
Jackman starred as Marvel’s superhero Wolverine for over a decade since his first appearance in 2000’s X-Men.
