Did the Duchess of Sussex make her final curtsy to Prince Charles and the Queen?
Meghan Markle made her final royal appearance at the Commonwealth Service, and was joined by Prince Harry, Kate Middleton and Prince William. The Commonwealth Service marked Harry and Markle’s final official duty as working royals.
Upon hearing the arrival of the Queen and Prince Charles, the quartet rose from their seats with the crowd.
While Middleton, William and Harry gave a slight nod to them, Markle went into a deep curtsy as Prince Charles walked directly in front of her.
However, according to The Cut, this could this be her final curtsy to the royal family. Once Markle steps down, she won’t need to curtsy or bow as it isn’t customary for Americans, etiquette expert Myka Meier said.
Americans choose to “simply shake hands,” though she has to wait for the Queen to extend her hand for her to follow suit, Meier told People back in January.
