A Redditor has tweaked the Google logo to highlight a timely, important cause.
Governments all over the world are reminding their citizens to isolate themselves and observe social distancing amid the coronavirus pandemic. Reddit user NumericalMiracle thought of a great way to remind the public of this practice through a Google Doodle concept.
“If I were a designer at the Google team, this is what my Doodle would be for now. Simple, but communicates what needs to happen,” the Redditor said.
The simple concept shows the increasing of the wordmark’s kerning, making the letters look as though they are standing apart from each other.
This speaks volumes with the current crisis, and internet users would not take too long to understand it, especially when words like “quarantine,” “isolation” and “social distancing” are being thrown around.
The design community thinks the brilliant idea should become an official Google Doodle. “Send it please to Google,” one user wrote.
Google itself rolled out five quick tips to stop the coronavirus. Internet users are urged to “ Do the Five” to protect themselves and one another from COVID-19.
