Shortly after introducing COVID-19 screening tools to Siri, Apple has teamed up with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the White House coronavirus task force and the Federal Emergency Management Agency to launch an app and website for internet users to stay informed about the virus outbreak.
Apple CEO Tim Cook announced the website and app made for US citizens on Twitter. The tools will be constantly updated to keep people informed about the virus and understand its symptoms to take the necessary steps to protect their health during the crisis.
Cook reassured that the data you provide will be protected, and the website and app are specifically made to offer insights into COVID-19’s spread. The coronavirus-centered website and app were created to “provide trusted information and guidance” to people across the nation amid the present unrest.
Google unveiled its coronavirus website last week, which also offers resources and prevention tips.
To help you stay informed, understand symptoms and take proper steps to protect your health, Apple has created a COVID-19 website and a US app in partnership with the CDC. As always, the data is yours and your privacy is protected. Stay safe and healthy. https://t.co/qUEMYOzZUC
