Medical advancements will kill COVID-19, but there’s one more way to contain the novel coronavirus: design.
In its first-ever open brief for creatives, the United Nations (UN) has called upon designers and brands of the world to help convey public health messages through meaningful visuals in hopes of raising awareness about keeping safe from the virus.
The brief itself contains six smaller ones covering social distancing, personal hygiene, COVID-19 symptoms, promoting a “kindness contagion,” raising funds for COVID-19 relief, and busting misconceptions on the coronavirus, as reported by It’s Nice That.
“You have the power to change the world…” the UN wrote. “The United Nations (UN) needs your help in translating critical public health messages, into work that will engage and inform people across different cultures, languages, communities and platforms.”
The organization will evaluate the submissions, and shortlist at least 10 creations to be shown around the world. Selected works are expected to be shared on its media supporter channels, digital galleries, physical exhibitions, and for everyone across the globe to download and use.
