Fast food giant Burger King unveiled a cheeky ad campaign in collaboration with advertising agency David in São Paulo, which involves the installing of “For Rent” and “For Sale” signs at buildings beside a McDonald’s outlets in Brazil.
The signage was created to hint that future neighbors of McDonald’s outlets will not be disrupted, as the fast food restaurant does not create smoke in its kitchens through flame-grilling—unlike Burger King, of course.
Anyone who calls the phone number written on the signs will be transferred to an audio message, which explains why “it’s great to have a neighbor who doesn’t barbecue.” If they are hungry, they can always enjoy a flame-grilled patty in Burger King’s sandwich.
The message ends with an email address that customers can use to contact Burger King Brazil.
Rafael Donato, creative vice-president of the ad agency, shared that the campaign highlights “one of the features that sets [Burger King] apart as a brand without losing its sense of humor.”
