As you should know by now, simply posting black squares on Instagram isn’t enough to bring meaningful change for racial equality. However, not everyone has the means to financially support the Black Lives Matter movement.
The very good news is that you can donate money for the cause to fight for justice without having to pay anything. The inspiring initiative, launched by YouTuber Zoe Amira, simply involves a 56-minute video that raises funds through ads inserted in it.
100-percent of ad revenue made from the film through AdSense will be donated to 16 nonprofit groups that offer support and bail funds for the Black Lives Matter cause.
Here’s how to get started. If your ad blocker is switched on, you’ll have to turn it off. After which, let the video play, and do not skip the ads. You can minimize the tab and have the video playing in the background, but it’s strongly encouraged that you take a look at it, as it showcases art and music by black talents.
There’s a trick to multiply your contribution efforts to raise as much money as possible. You can simply hit the “repeat” button so that it keeps generating revenue. However, YouTube might detect continuous views as spam, so Tumblr user poguesgold suggests watching three to five unique videos before returning to this one after each round.
