Tesla’s Website Design Seems Brazenly Ripped Off By Chinese Electric Car Rival

It seems like Tesla’s website has been copied by a Chinese electric carmaker called Xpeng. The uncanny similarities between Tesla’s website and Xpeng’s website was first spotted by Electrek last month.
Initially, Xpeng’s web design placed its car, buttons, statistics, and other features in the same positions as elements in Tesla’s design. The brand’s P7 model was also centered on the same place as Tesla’s Model S on the latter’s site.
Xpeng has since made some adjustments to make it look a little less like a carbon copy.
While the new changes might have Xpeng come across as simply inspired by Tesla’s web design, the fact is the two companies have been going head-to-head with each other after Tesla filed a lawsuit against Xpeng for stealing the source code of Tesla’s Autopilot system. Xpeng also has a similar feature called “Xpilot.”
Tesla alleged that its former employee, Guangzhi Cao, had swiped internal information and sold it to Xpeng, where he was employed after. Xpeng refuted the claims.
