Band-Aid, owned by Johnson & Johnson, has unveiled a range of racially diverse bandages for light and medium skin tones to deep shades of brown and Black complexions.
The brand announced the upcoming bandage range on Instagram in support of the anti-racism movement taking place across the US. The company pledges to do more to represent minority races via its products, and the new line is the first move the brand has made to promote inclusivity of all races.
Band-Aid will also be donating to the Black Lives Matter movement to combat against systemic racism
“We stand in solidarity with our Black colleagues, collaborators, and community in the fight against racism, violence, and injustice,” the company wrote. “We are committed to taking actions to create tangible change for the Black community.”
The move follows in the footsteps of Tesco’s skin tone bandages, as well as Crayola’s release of inclusive crayons celebrating “colors of the world.”
