Athletic clothing brand Under Armour has released its Sportsmask, a face mask for exercising during the coronavirus pandemic.
The masks were sold out almost under an hour. However, the company is now taking preorders and the next batch of Sportmasks will be delivered by 17 August 2020. The company claimed that the first-of-its-kind product reusable and water-resistant.
It was specifically designed to offer maximum breathability when users are exercising while wearing the masks. The top of the mask sports a moldable nose bridge to help secure the mask in place. It also mitigates airflow to the eyes to avoid fogging up glasses. The mask includes three layers and the first layer is a “spacer fabric” that is light with air pockets for better airflow.
The middle layer is an open-cell foam, which lets air through without moisture and sweat. The third layer is an “iso-chill” fabric that is cooling and stretchable for long use and comfort. It is also treated with “PROTX2, a non-metal anti-microbial technology which inhibits the growth of bacteria on the mask.”
According to the company, the PROTX2 technology is currently being evaluated by the Environmental Protection Agency. It also stated that laboratory tests provide the technology is able to destroy COVID-19.
The Sportsmask comes in four different sizes to fit most people with black and charcoal colors. You can get your hands on the masks here.
