YouTuber Lucas Rizzotto filmed the whole of 2019 by wearing cameras on his face. He then developed a virtual-reality “time machine,” which lets him go back in time to relive any memory from the year.
Rizzotto released a 28-minute video showing how he created his VR time machine. In the video, he explained how he used Snapchat Spectacles, glasses attached with two cameras, to film footage in stereoscopic 3D.
With a monumental amount of footage in his hard drives, Rizzotto went on to code a virtual-reality control panel for his time machine. The system lets him select the time and date to relive his memory.
He also included special effects to make it exciting to watch in the future. Rizzotto used a VR headset to travel back in time through his recorded videos from 2019.
“It’s crazy, overwhelming, emotional, and way more immersive than I thought it would be. I was my own ghost, watching myself wander through life with no idea of what was going to happen next,” he said about his experience.
