Donald Trump shared a photo that might just make his supporters buy up all the Goya beans.
Despite it being a federal ethics violation, the US president proceeded to share an image of himself promoting the bean brand on social media. He appeared to loom over a range of Goya products that were lined on his desk in the Oval Office. He gave a two thumbs up to the camera, while flashing a dazzling smile.
His daughter, Ivanka Trump, previously tweeted an image of herself holding a can of Goya beans, as well. According to Mashable, federal officials are not allowed to use their positions to sponsor products.
After Goya’s CEO Robert Unanue announced his support for Trump in a press conference, many Hispanic households who were customers of Goya’s products vowed to boycott the company, including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Some social media users voiced out that Trump’s latest photo was meant to distract people from more severe issues the country is facing, such as the coronavirus pandemic and police brutality. Check out responses from Twitter users below.
.@GoyaFoods is doing GREAT. The Radical Left smear machine backfired, people are buying like crazy!

Oh look, it’s the sound of me Googling “how to make your own Adobo” https://t.co/YOScAcyAnC

I will protect your statues.
I will protect your beans.
Your grandmother is on her own.
There are bounties on troops. Americans are dying. Hospitals overflowing. Parents terrified about schools opening. Protests in the street.

I’d bet a lot of beans that no one in the Trump family has ever eaten Goya before

The Trumps want us to focus on Goya-gate so we will ignore high crimes like
the Stone pardon
the Russian bounty scandal
& above all the countless Covid deaths Trump has caused.
Let's pay attention to Goya -- but in that context please. pic.twitter.com/spTvN4Xu2n
In any event, is Quaker Oats cornmeal good? I used to use Goya after I switched from "Indian Head" and... like I just want to grocery shop without supporting white supremacy.

This is the President of the United States, selling canned goods in the WH. Sorta like, let them eat beans. https://t.co/ctXju0SgPb
