56-year-old Californian mother Kathy Jacobs just made her debut on the Swimsuit issue of Sports Illustrated.

Jacobs had spent her early years working with New York agency Ford Models, before directing her attention to launching her anti-aging skincare line, Beauty Batters.

She had previously applied for the SI Swimsuit Model Search, but failed to go past the top 30. However, she came back better than ever and landed a spot in Sports Illustrated’s July 2020 edition as one of six shortlisted women.

“I felt a burning desire to try again and to be part of a change in the way society views women over 50 [years old],” Jacobs told People magazine.

Standing at a height of five feet and three inches, Jacobs calls herself a “petite model activist” who demands the model industry to welcome a diverse range of women that goes beyond age and height.
