Apple will be rolling in a slew of emojis this year, and it will include a bubble tea, ninja, piñata, pinched fingers.
The company recently shared some of the upcoming 2020 emojis with
Emojipedia, the reference site for emoji based on the Unicode Standard.
iPhone users can soon expect to see emoticons of 55 gender and skin-tone variants, along with gender-inclusive emojis that will use an alternative to gendered versions. For example, thre will be a person with a veil and a person in a tuxedo instead of the current cisgender male and female options.
There will also be an emoji for bubble tea, a dodo bird, tamale, anatomical heart, lungs, beaver, pinched fingers, ninja, and more.
The new emojis will be made available later in the year for iOS, macOS and iPadOS users. Apple plans to adopt the new Unicode 13 emoji characters as part of the fall iOS 14 update.
