Fyre Festival’s Infamous Name Lives On As Its Merch Goes Up On Auction

US Marshals are now putting 126 items seized from the notorious Fyre Festival on auction online. The festival, organized by Billy Farland, is known to be one of the most infamous music events that never took place, and it even spurred a Netflix special covering how it all went south.
Now, auction house Gaston & Sheehan is placing the items from the US marshals for bidding online.
So far, the most coveted items of the lot seem to be the black hat with the word “Fyre,” which is currently going for US$220 after 29 bids, and a pair of blue joggers—originally sold at US$70—that is now getting bids for US$100.
Other items include rubber wristbands with the words, “Conspiracy to change the entertainment industry,” a white crewneck sweatshirt, and 50 more pairs of joggers.
Sales made from the auction, listed as “US Marshals Service National Online Auction (Fyre Festival fraud scheme),” will benefit parties who were affected by the scam.
“The proceeds from the sale of these items, all traceable to McFarland’s $26 million fraud, will go toward the victims of his crimes,” US Marshal Ralph Sozio of the Southern District of New York in the statement, per Esquire.
