President Donald Trump visited Lake Charles in Louisiana to attend a briefing on the Hurricane Laura disaster response, and oddly gave away autographs for survivors to sell on eBay.
Trump even touted that these autographs could be sold for US$10,000 each on eBay.
During the briefing, Trump called out to a group of people and began giving out autographs.
He signed a piece of paper for a police officer and said, “Sell this on eBay tonight, you’ll get US$10,000.”
“If I put your name down, it loses a lot of value. So just sell it tonight on eBay,” Trump added.
The death toll linked with Hurricane Laura has hit 14, and several of them are tied with carbon monoxide poisoning.
The Centers of Disease Control and Prevention also advises against utilizing “alternate power sources such as gasoline generators,” as they can cause carbon monoxide buildup, eventually “poison[ing] the people and animals.”
