Hey Siri, how do people get up to speed on the latest Apple event without watching the Apple event?
Well, here it is. If you’re one of the many who didn’t have the time to catch Apple’s latest iPhone launch, the Cupertino tech giant has got you covered, condensing over an hour of information into only 51 seconds.
The 13 October unveiling was the Apple event that fans had been waiting for all year. It’s when the company finally dropped its flagship iPhone 12 lineup, which was delayed due to the coronavirus. It also marked the first time Apple has brought in 5G and a HomePod mini, and saw the rebirth of MagSafe for effortless wireless charging.
Check out what went down on Tuesday in Apple’s bite-sized summary:

This year’s basic-tier iPhones arrive with all-new technology that supercedes the iPhone 11 series, including an upgrade to end-to-end OLED displays (Super Retina XDR), 5G speeds, the same A14 Bionic chip as the Pro models, and a Ceramic Shield screen—the “toughest” ever smartphone screen which promises “4x better drop performance” than previous iPhones.
Appearance-wise, you will notice that the iPhone 12 and 12 mini sport flat aluminum sides similar to the iPhone 5.
The iPhone 12 mini is the smallest iPhone yet with a bezel-free design, measuring at 5.4 inches. Meanwhile, the iPhone 12 features a 6.1-inch Super Retina screen.
Both are equipped with dual rear cameras—one Wide lens and one Ultra Wide lens. New to the mid-tier range is Night mode.
iPhone 12 Pro & iPhone 12 Pro Max

The premium iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max boast “less bezel” and “more screen” and sport 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR displays respectively.
In contrast with the mid-tier models, the flat iPhone 4-like sides are designed with surgical-grade stainless steel instead of aluminum.
The phones also come with new Ceramic Shield displays, which Apple touts is “tougher than any smartphone glass” and delivers “4x better drop performance” than past iPhone screens.
The standout features are definitely the cameras. Boosted by the new A14 Bionic chip, they are able to record end-to-end Dolby Vision videos of up to 60 fps. There is a triple-camera configuration at the back, which includes a low light-compatible Wide lens, expansive Ultra Wide camera, and a Telephoto camera. The Max promises longer focal length for the latter.
