With COVID-19 throwing 2020 into a world of confusion, people could do with a series of pleasant surprises to offset the panic. Air New Zealand hopes to provide just that—the airline has reintroduced a program that doesn’t let passengers know where they’re headed until two days before departure.
With Mystery Breaks, travelers will simply pay a flat fee starting from A$599 (US$424) for a full vacation package which is available in three tiers: Great, Deluxe, and Luxury.
For an additional element of surprise, the air tickets require no name nor date, making for excellent gifts. “All you have to do is get on the plane,” describes Jeremy O’Brien, the company’s General Manager of Brand and Marketing, in a press release.
The only given factor is that the airline will take customers to one of 20 domestic destinations. The packages also entail accommodation and breakfast at an Accor Hotel, as well as airport transfers or the option to rent a car from Avis.
However, passengers can still ensure the mystery trips will be to their liking by naming one destination they do not wish to visit.
Those itching to experience a sense of wonder through travel can now book their flights on the Air New Zealand site.
