UNO has released an eco-friendly version of its popular card game, created out of “Nothin’ But Paper.”
Mattel has completely removed cellophane in the greener version of the card game in place of 100-percent paper, allowing for the 112-card deck and its packaging to be recyclable.
The decks also use soy-based ink to produce the striking colors that the game is known for.
The company states that the move is a part of its commitment to use recycled, recyclable or bio-based plastic materials in all of its products and packaging by 2030.
“Small steps can make a big impact,” the company says, “especially when these changes roll out through the most popular card game in the world.”
UNO Nothin’ But Paper is available to purchase here for US$5.99.
