Despite the world of web design having come a long way, creating a site still requires time, even if it’s for a simple and basic design with few bells and whistles.
A new convenient tool called ‘Nocode’ removes a whole chunk of steps from the web design process, allowing you to move from ideation to publication almost immediately with the help of Google Docs.
The creators said that they were inspired to build Nocode after after having to port content from “hundreds of Google Docs over to Wordpress” for a documentation site. “Surely there is an easier way to do this,” they thought. “So we built one.”
Nocode shares that the websites it generates are responsive, optimized—“so Google will love [them] from day one”—as well as secure and “unhackable,” thanks to a special technology that segregates the website builder from your published document. You can also use it to quickly manage and edit existing pages.
The tool is free, but you’ll have to make an upgrade to exceed a bandwidth of 100MB and a storage of 10MB. The paid versions, which start from US$12 per month, include add-ons like custom domain support, contact form creation, a search tool, and password protection.
While it’s not the tool for sophisticated setups, Nocode’s creators described that the app would be suited for those who need to to “publish information quickly and reliably” into product documentation, blog, intranet, portfolio, and simple website formats. Give it a go here.
