Heineken’s Christmas Ad Shows The Irritating Side You Will Miss This Year

Heineken has launched a holiday campaign titled Holidays As Usual. While 2020 is filled with the unexpected, the beer maker shows that the one thing that continues to stay the same is the “happy family reunions.”
Created by advertising agency Publicis Italy, the ad shows typical contrasting opinions between family members and trivial bickering that many can relate to—from what to watch on TV to the “no shoes policy” and Christmas decorations.
Maud Meijboom, Heineken’s brand development and communications director, said, “As many people have missed connecting with family and friends this year, with some only able to reunite virtually, we wanted to bring a fresh and playful perspective to what it means to spend the holidays together.”
“With Holidays as Usual, we hope people reminisce on their own family get-togethers, start feeling the holiday cheer and if they are able to, plan to reconnect in a socially responsible way – all while recognizing that it’s the little things that make the holidays special!” he continued.
Though these may be irritating in the moment, such events are likely cherished and appreciated more than ever this year.
The video is part of Heineken’s ‘#SocializeResponsibly’ campaign, which encourages people to enjoy drinking but in a responsible way.
