Burger King France previously
showed its support for other food chains by calling on the public to visit other establishments impacted by the
COVID-19 lockdown.
In another move of solidarity, the fast food brand, together with creative agency
Buzzman, went further by allowing these independent restaurants to advertise on its Instagram account for free.
From now until 21 January 2021, Burger King has made a point to stop posting its burgers on Instagram, and instead spotlight other restaurants’ menu items, addresses, and promotions. This will hopefully increase the eateries’ visibility on Instagram and drive more traffic to their socials before restaurants reopen in January.
“There’s Bocamexa’s tacos, Loumi’s salads, Popote’s blanquette, Fufu’s ramens, La Pasta Tinto’s pastas, Oceanoza’s sushis. In short, there are specialities from thousands of restaurants that deserve to be as famous as the Whopper,” the advertisement reads.
“So, we decided to stop posting our burger pics and to make our Instagram account available to all of these restaurants. Until they can open again, they will be able to advertise here, for free,” it continues.
