Ex-Tesla & SpaceX Designers Build Portable ‘Pods’ To Get You Closer To Nature

Former Tesla and SpaceX designers have created portable shelters for those who wish to get closer to nature.
According to Business Insider, the new startup, Jupe, makes 111-square-foot pods that allow people to experience the nature without having to disconnect from the rest of the world.
“During these times when most of us are craving a true escape, Jupe provides an experience perfectly suited for socially distanced travel,” the company’s CEO Jeff Wilson said of the project.
The pods are constructed in aluminum with sleek lighting panels, and can be easily assembled almost anywhere. Each structure is also Wi-Fi-enabled, so you can still stay connected while living off the grid. It can fit a Queen-sized bed, end tables, a desk, a chair, and an “average-sized monolith.”
Wilson also shared that the company got some inspiration from the monolith found in sci-fi film 2001: A Space Odyssey for the construction of the shelters. That explains why each unit can fit one inside.
