Have green thumbs? Don’t have green thumbs? No matter your gardening skills, working with LEGO’s all-new Botanical Collection will be a fun and rewarding at-home project.
The brick toy company has been rolling out
some intriguing kits for adults lately, and its latest selection is designed to help you weed out the quarantine blues and practice mindfulness. The new collection features a versatile LEGO Flower Bouquet and zen LEGO Bonsai Tree—and both require no watering.
Keeping true to the concept of being green, “a number of elements” in both sets are constructed out of sustainably-sourced, plant-based sugarcane plastic, LEGO revealed in a
press statement.

If you’ve been keen to learn about floral arrangement, the
LEGO Flower Bouquet is a good way to get started. The intricate 756-piece can be customized into an assortment of snapdragons, roses, poppies, asters, daisies, and various grasses according to your creativity, preference or room design. The bouquet can even be divided to be placed into vases around your house.

The bouquet set can be built to as high as 14 inches tall. It will retail for US$49.99 for the entire kit, but you can also purchase individual blooms at US$12.99 for the roses and US$9.99 for tulips.

Invite a zen energy into your home with the 878-piece
LEGO Bonsai Tree kit, modelled after the ancient Japanese art form. The set consists of green leaves to be mindfully shaped into its rectangular pot, and even comes with pink cherry blossoms to switch to when the season turns.

For full effect, the set is planted into a slatted wood-like LEGO stand; when complete, it will measure at seven inches in height. The bonsai kit will also be priced at US$49.99.
LEGO shared that it saw the need to launch the Botanical Collection after its 2020 Play Well Study had shown that more than seven in 10 adults would often research new ways to relieve stress. In addition, 81-percent of adults around the world agree that play helps them relax.
“As adults look for new ways to switch off and relax, we’re delighted to be able to help them seek solace from their busy everyday lives as they immerse themselves in creating these beautiful botanical builds,” described Jamie Berard, Design Lead at the LEGO Group. “The customisable elements and mindful building experience will hopefully help them express their personality as their creativity blossoms.”
The Botanical Collection will debut from 1 January 2021 on LEGO’s physical and
online stores, before moving to other retailers globally.
