Checkmate! If you had been binge-watching The Queen’s Gambit on Netflix, you can now live inside Beth Harmon’s world with a hotel room modeled after Netflix’s most-watched limited series.
To bring the show to the real world, boutique hotel and modern art museum 21c Museum Hotels has opened the ‘Harmon Room’ in its hotel right in Lexington, Kentucky, where the show is set in. The chic room is decked in a 60s-era-inspired design and comes with Easter eggs like free ‘Lex Liquors’ tote bags, chess sets and Chess Review magazines.
The scene-stealer is a giant upside-down chessboard suspended from the ceiling above the bed, materializing the one in Beth Harmon’s drug-induced hallucinations.
The mid-century modern interiors are also filled with vintage accessories and custom art from Lexington vendors.
For the full experience, guests can also turn to the exclusive Queen’s Gambit Guide put together by Lexington’s tourism board, where they’ll be able to locate highlights featured in the series.
Stays begin from US$234 per night. Find out more here.
